Journey form Tumblr to Blogger.

Well, its simple - Tumblr is awesome but it is not the tool the world needs right now, although it totally deserves it. Somehow, at the end of this not-so-amazing weekend, I thought of trying out some of the best Desktop Clients for blogging. This change was inspired by the fact that I was getting lazier . . it was a pain to open the tumblr page and write a post in their oh-so-tiny space . . it was getting slack and the fun went missing.

Then I stumbled upon Windows Live Writer and some other tools which you can write blogs in offline mode but they all failed me in one department - None of them had support for tumblr. In a time when wordpress is the king, it seems the competition is not getting the respect it deserves.

So, here I am . . starting over at Blogger ( somehow these tools like it as a second alternatine . . huh ). Let's see how the journey from here unfolds.

People Perspectives #Marcus Aurelius

Marcus Aurelius was emperor of Rome during the 2nd century AD, the last in a line of five emperors known to have ruled Rome with authority, humanity, and competence. He is renowned for being a wise and noble leader whom Plato referred to as “The Philosopher King”. His own reflections on leadership and what it means to lead a good an virtuous life were captured in a series of books known as "The Meditations", seminal texts in the school of Stoicism which are to this day often quoted.
“The things you think about determine the quality of your mind.” Marcus Aurelius The field of leadership is supported by thousands of books, videos and training courses, but of all of the texts I’ve read and the courses I’ve studied, I’ve yet to find a more pragmatic guide to being an authentic leader. The last of the Five Good Emperors, Marcus Aurelius is a reminder that despite the saying that “absolute power corrupts absolutely,” that is not always the case. At the time of his death, he was one…

People Perspectives #Maya Angelou

'Self-Made' is a myth. There is no one who is self-made. Period. All the millionaires anecdotes and rags-to-riches stories that we come across, may make us feel like we are all powerful alone and we can conquer the world alone - but that is far from the truth. We are a social conglomerate and we need to be guided, inspired and navigated by others, people who have lived and worked in the right direction more than us. The fact is that today, we ain't got the time or the opportunities to make all the mistakes we can and then learn from them. Don't believe anyone who says otherwise.

Starting to do something in life, is so similar to when we started off as babies. We didn't know a thing, had no clue about the whats, whys and wheres of any skill whatsoever. Had we been left to teach ourselves everything, most of us would still be crawling the floors and inventing  ways to ask for a sandwich. But no. We had folks to guide us, hold our hands, teach us best ways to walk, t…

Quotable Quotes #1: Date a girl who reads!

"Date a girl who reads. Date a girl who spends her money on books instead of clothes, who has problems with closet space because she has too many books. Date a girl who has a list of books she wants to read, who has had a library card since she was twelve.

Find a girl who reads. You’ll know that she does because she will always have an unread book in her bag. She’s the one lovingly looking over the shelves in the bookstore, the one who quietly cries out when she has found the book she wants. You see that weird chick sniffing the pages of an old book in a secondhand book shop? That’s the reader. They can never resist smelling the pages, especially when they are yellow and worn.
She’s the girl reading while waiting in that coffee shop down the street. If you take a peek at her mug, the non-dairy creamer is floating on top because she’s kind of engrossed already. Lost in a world of the author’s making. Sit down. She might give you a glare, as most girls who read do not like to be i…
